NOTE: Please note that while this exhaust is bolt-on fitment for 2004 – 2006 XLs, these carbureted bikes will need block-off plugs (not-included) for the 02 sensor threaded bungs. 2014-2021 XLs require 02 port bushing adapters to reduce the 18mm port on the Shotgun Exhaust Pipes to the 12mm port needed. Sold separately. On some later models the O2 sensor may come into contact with the electrical caddy for the ECM located on the downtube behind the engine.

Important Exhaust Notes:
Note: As with any new exhaust, you may need to change carburetor jetting or use of an aftermarket fuel injection control module for peak performance.

WARRANTY NOTE: There is no warranty on exhaust pipes and mufflers with regard to any discoloration. Blueing is caused by tuning characteristics, cam timing, carburetor jetting, overheating, etc. and is not caused by defective manufacturing. No refunds on exhaust pipes once motorcycle is started unless there’s a manufacturer’s defect.

WARRANTY NOTE: Using header wrap on exhaust pipes will void the warranty. Lowbrow Customs will not take returns or replace damaged exhaust pipes that were wrapped. Many motorcyclists use header wrap to either keep the heat away from their leg or just ‘for looks’. Header wrap not only keeps heat away from anything near it, it keeps the heat inside the pipes. Header wrap is designed specifically to keep the heat in the header to improve the scavenging of the cylinders. Keeping the heat in keeps the exhaust speed high, which is good for performance. The issue is that, especially if the motorcycle is running lean, the metal of the exhaust can be at near molten (or molten) temperatures, causing the pipe to disintegrate or crack. This typically happens close to the exhaust port / head. For this reason we will not replace pipes that are damaged by excessive heat due to header wrap.
